- Steward Observatory Public Evenings present Donald W. McCarthy, astronomer, to speak on "UA Astronomy Camps: Progress and Future Plans," in the sixth lecture of the of the Big Bang Lecture Series in the Steward Observatory Auditorium, Room N210 at 7:30 p.m.
After the hour-long lecture there will be a question and answer period. It thae weather permits, those attending are invited to view the night sky through the telescope at Steward Observatory's campus station, aided by members of the UA Astronomy club.
- The School of Music and Dance presents guitarist Tom Patterson in a concert to raise money to purchase chairs for the university's Honor Center in the Slonaker House at 7 p.m.
Admission is $3 for students and $10 for others.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Escape from L.A." at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day Of those enrolled in engineering graduate programs 15 percent are women. In nursing graduate programs 95 percent of those enrolled are women.
