This is in response to Daniel G. Barker's Nov. 22 letter "Don't blame Christians for spreading Jesus' goodness." Mr. Barker, it might be wise if you followed the example of your beloved Jesus Christ. He was a man who spread his teachings, but he did not force it on others unwillingly. Faith is a private belief; it is one's relationship between themselves and their vision of the divine. It is not a contest to see how many bible-thumpers can transform the "wicked" and "unholy."
Please remember that no human can prove the existence of God, for the Bible is not a factual text. The Bible was an attempt to explain the phenomenon of life, and as such, it was also used to subvert women, slaves, gays and lesbians. Remember that your God is supposed to be all merciful and all forgiving; therefore, as long as one is good, it shouldn't matter whom or what they call a god.
And last of all, please remember two precepts straight from the Bible: 1) "Do not judge lest ye be judged" and 2)"'Vengeance is mine,' said the Lord." Do not presame to take the place of your so holy master.
