A female student called university police Sunday after a male student followed her to her car from the Newman Catholic Student Center, 1615 E. Second St.

The student told police she left the center at 8 p.m. and was followed to her car parked in the UA lot at East First Street and North Cherry Avenue. When she got into her car, the man would not let her close the door.

"Why are you so afraid of me?" the man asked repeatedly, according to police reports.

The student went into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house to use the telephone. She returned to her car accompanied by two SAE members. The man was still outside but did not approach her.

The student told police she met the man at a bar in February. She said she told him to leave her alone that night. In April, the student told police, the man began calling her continuously. He stopped, she said, after the Tucson Police Department warned him.

The student told police that the two attend the same church, but that it had not previously been a problem.

Police advised the student to get an injunction to protect her from harassment.


A female student reported receiving harassing telephone calls Sunday to her Coronado Residence Hall room, 822 E. Fifth St.

The student told police the calls had begun Nov. 20 and that she has been receiving calls each night. She said the caller identifies herself as "her boyfriend's other girlfriend."

The calls started after the student refused to take a sorority sister to McDonald's. The student said she thinks the caller is another member of the same sorority.The student was advised to call police if the calls continue.


University police were called Wednesday after a male student received a threatening e-mail message in the Student Union Computer Center, 1303 E. University Blvd.

Police came to the Union at 1:10 a.m. after the student received a message threatening the student's cousin and the student himself.

"I know when the FUCK you eat, what the FUCK you do, and what the FUCK you want!!" the message stated. The student said he had received messages from the same person in the past, but they had never been threatening.

The student was told to contact police if the messages continued.


A female student called university police Nov. 25 to report receiving about 100 hang-up telephone calls over the course of two months in her Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall room, 910 E. Fifth St.

The student told police the calls began Oct. 1. She said she received several calls a day.

Two weeks earlier, the student received calls while staying in a local hotel, she told police.

The student said she suspects an acquaintance but did not want to give police the acquaintance's name.

The student was told to contact police if the calls continued.


A motor scooter was taken over the weekend from the motorcycle parking area outside Graham-Greenlee Residence Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave.

A male student told university police he parked the scooter south of the hall Wednesday at 7 p.m. before leaving for the long weekend. He returned Sunday at 3:30 p.m. to discover the scooter was gone.

The student said he had disabled the steering mechanism and had secured the front wheel with a U-lock before leaving.

The student said he had bought the light blue Honda Elite scooter three weeks ago for $700.


A female student reported Wednesday that her wallet was taken from the Main Library, 1510 E. University Blvd.

The student told university police the wallet disappeared either Nov. 12 or Nov. 13. The wallet contained four Visa cards.

The student called one of the credit card companies Wednesday and learned that $500 worth of charges had been made on her card.

The student told police two charges were made at local bar, one at a local business and one at a gas station. The student said charges were not made on her other cards.

The student told police she did not initially report the wallet stolen because she often misplaces it.
