A window was broken Sunday at the Sigma Delta Tau sorority house, 1731 E. Second St.

The sorority's house mother called police at 7:20 a.m. after she heard a bang at the front of the house and found glass on the living room floor.

Police found a golf ball lying in the bushes in front of the building.

People were reported hitting golf balls at 1:30 a.m. in the Rita Hillenbrand Memorial Stadium, but no one was found. The golf ball was placed into evidence.


Welding equipment was reported missing Monday from the Arizona Cancer Center construction site at 1515 N. Campbell Ave.

A male employee of a local construction firm told police that the welder was last seen Saturday at 11 a.m. when the site closed for the weekend.

The welder had been locked to another welder inside the site's fence with a chain and padlock.

When the employee returned Monday at 6:30 a.m., the welder was gone, and the chain was cut.

University police found no damage to the fence, but its gate is only held by bailing wire when the site is closed.

University Medical Center security cameras may have caught the act on tape, and those tapes are being reviewed, police reports stated.

Police also contacted several area tool dealers, but they had not seen the welder.

The blue and white Miller Bobcat 225 trailer welder was valued at $5,000.


Vandalism was discovered Monday at a Music Department storage facility, 1401 E. Helen St.

University police found the brown spray painted graffiti on the west side of the house at 6:30 a.m.

The graffiti was gang related, police reports stated.

Police contacted the building monitor who said the house was unmarked the morning of Nov. 27.

The Department of Facilities Management was notified of the damage.


A stereo was reported missing Monday from the Education building, 1430 E. Second St.

A male employee told university police he left his office for the Thanksgiving weekend Nov. 27 at noon. He told police his stereo was in his office when he locked it and left.

When the employee returned to his office Monday at 9 a.m., he discovered his stereo was gone. He said the door had been locked when he returned and there were no signs of forced entry.

The Panasonic compact disc/cassette portable stereo was valued at $150.


An attempted burglary was reported Monday at the Ina E. Gittings Building, 1713 E. University Blvd.

The frame to a door vent was found removed from a room at 2:59 p.m.

A male employee said the door was not damaged when he left Nov. 25.

No entry was gained to the room, police reports stated. A Macintosh computer, an IBM computer and a laser printer were still in the room.


A male student's car was reported vandalized last Wednesday in the Second Street Garage, 1340 E. Second St.

The student told police he parked his 1986 Honda Prelude in the garage at 11:15 p.m. before he and a friend went to play pool in the Memorial Student Union.When the student returned at 11:50 p.m., he found his passenger-side window shattered.

Nothing was taken from the car. The value of the damage was unknown.


A car was reported vandalized Nov. 27 in the Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St.

A Tucson man told university police he parked his 1995 BMW in the garage at 8 a.m. He returned at 7:30 p.m. to find scratches on every body panel of the car.

The man said he could not think of anyone who would want to damage his car. The value of the damage was unknown.


A truck was reported damaged Friday outside Arizona-Sonora Residence Hall, 910 E. Fifth St.

A male student told police he parked his 1993 Isuzu Rodeo south of the hall Friday at 3 p.m. He said he left the truck for five minutes while he went into the hall to look for someone.

When he, he told police, his truck's alarm was going off, and the right rear tailgate, quarter panel and light were damaged.

The value of the damage was unknown.
