The UA Library offers a free workshop on "Creating Web Pages: Beyond the Basics," in the Science and Engineering Library, Room 311 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.
In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday Sankofa, the UA's African-American Faculty-staff association, with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee, are hosting a presentation from noon until 1 p.m. on the UA Mall, near Old Main, where students will reflect on how their lives have been affected by Dr. King's writings. Music and prayer are included in the presentation. A reception follows in the Memorial Students Union's Anniversary Lounge.
Monday, The Flandrau Science Center will present David Levy, comet hunter and discoverer, to speak on the "Importance of Comet Hale-Bopp, Comets and the Origin of Life and Comet Impacts," at 7:30 p.m. at the science center.
Tickets are $10. and can be purchased at the Flandrau Science Center gift shop. Proceeds will benefit educational programs at the Center.
The Memorial Students Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Get on the Bus" today, tomorrow and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
The State of Arizona reported 220 cases involving hate crimes during 1995. A total of 7,947 hate crimes were reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation during 1995.
