  • The UA Library offers a free workshop on "Creating Web Pages: Beyond the Basics," in the Science and Engineering Library, Room 311 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

  • In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday Sankofa, the UA's African-American Faculty-staff association, with the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration Committee, are hosting a presentation from noon until 1 p.m. on the UA Mall, near Old Main, where students will reflect on how their lives have been affected by Dr. King's writings. Music and prayer are included in the presentation. A reception follows in the Memorial Students Union's Anniversary Lounge.

  • Monday, The Flandrau Science Center will present David Levy, comet hunter and discoverer, to speak on the "Importance of Comet Hale-Bopp, Comets and the Origin of Life and Comet Impacts," at 7:30 p.m. at the science center.

    Tickets are $10. and can be purchased at the Flandrau Science Center gift shop. Proceeds will benefit educational programs at the Center.

  • The Memorial Students Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Get on the Bus" today, tomorrow and Sunday at 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Admission is $2.50.

Fact of the Day

The State of Arizona reported 220 cases involving hate crimes during 1995. A total of 7,947 hate crimes were reported to the Federal Bureau of Investigation during 1995.
