- The Bisexual, Gay and Lesbian Association is holding a meeting to discuss pending legislation to ban gay groups at state-funded schools. Memorial Student Union, Room 350, at 5:30 p.m.
BGALA will decide on a course of action on contract legislation sponsored by Rep. Dan Schottel, R-Tucson.
- The UA men's basketball team is playing Oregon State in the McKale Center at 6:37 p.m.
- The University Activities Board is hosting Comedy Corner in the Memorial Student Union's Cellar at 8 p.m. The show consists of original sketches as well as stand-up and improv comedy.
- Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering presents Dr. William K. Hartmann, of the Planetary Science Institute, to speak on "Artists on the Space Frontier," in the new AME building, Room S202, at 4 p.m. Refreshments are being served in room N722 of the AME building at 3:20 p.m.
Hartmann will discuss the process of converting scientific and technical material into artistic creation, and the connection of science to art.
- The Mathematics Department presents Paul Vojta, of UC Berkeley, to speak on "An Update on Diophantine Approximation and Nevanlinna Theory," at 4 p.m. in the Math building, Room 501. Refreshments are being served in Room 401N at 3:30 p.m.
- The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Sleepers" at 9:30 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
Fact of the Day
The Green Bay Packers and the New England Patriots are the teams in the Super Bowl this year. Green Bay is 2-0 in past Super Bowls and New England is 0-1. The Dallas Cowboys and the San Francisco 49ers lead the NFL with five Super Bowl victories each.
