• The Library offers a free workshop, "Internet: Beyond the Basics," in Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

  The workshop will cover the features of Netscape Navigator software, including advanced searching techniques, file transfer protocol and bookmarks. The workshop is designed for those who have attended the "Introduction to the Internet" workshop.

  Also, the Library offers a free workshop on creating homepages in Science and Engineering Library Room 311 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

  The workshop will explain how to use Hypertext MarkUp Language to create a World Wide Web homepage. Participants should have a familiarity with Windows.

• Career Services offers a free workshop on interviewing skills from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m in the Memorial Student Union, Room 280. Students are required to check in at the Center Services reception desk in the lower level of Old Main.

  The workshop help participants answer interview questions in one-on-one and panel settings. It will also cover what to do and what not to do in a job interview.

• The Hillel Center presents David Weinberg, of the Cohn-Haddow Center for Judaic Studies in Detroit. He will discuss the rebirth of the European Jewish community after the Holocaust at 7 p.m. in the Hillel Center, 1245 E. Second St.

  Weinberg will trace the rebirth of the Jewish community after WWII and the development through contemporary Europe.

• The Memorial Students Union's Gallagher Theatre shows "The Long Kiss Goodnight" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Admission is $2.50.

Eleven years ago today, the space shuttle Challenger exploded moments after takeoff, killing all six astronauts and Christa McAuliffe, a New Hampshire teacher. Subsequent investigations found that NASA had abandoned "good judgment and common sense" regard ing safety problems that caused the explosion.
