  • The Library offers a free workshop: "Introduction to the Internet" in the Science and Engineering Library, Room 311, from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

    The workshop covers Internet terms, history of the Internet, utilities and resources. Participants should leave the class knowing how to access the World Wide Web using Netscape Navigator. Participants should be familiar with the windows program.

  • The Latin American Area Center presents Tom s Fern ndez Robaina and Nara Ara£jo to speak on "Marginalized Voices in Cuban Literature: Women, Blacks and Homosexuals," in the Douglass Building Room 102 from 4:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m.

  • The Department of Physics presents Martin White, of the University of Chicago, to speak on "What Can We Learn from the Cosmic Microwave Background?" in the Physics and Atmospheric Sciences Building, Room 201, at 4 p.m. Refreshments are served at 3:30 in the PAS Building Room 218.

  • The University Student Interfaith Council is holding their first meeting of the spring semester in the Memorial Student Union Room 282 at 3 p.m.

  • The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "The First Wives Club" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:35 p.m. Admission is $2.50.

    In survey on sexuality conducted by U. Magazine last year, 38 percent of college students said they were "straight" or heterosexual while 35 percent of students said they were gay. Twenty-seven percent said they were bisexual.
