- The School of Music and Dance presents "A Labor of Love, part II," a concert featuring current piano students playing the department's new Steinway concert grand piano. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in Crowder Hall, located in the Fine Arts Complex. Admission is free.
- Arizona Repertory Theatre shows a preview of "You Can't Take it With You," a comedy by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman. The play, which won the Pulitzer Prize in 1937, begins at 8 p.m. in the Laboratory Theatre, located in the Fine Arts Complex. Admission is $8-$15. - The Pima County Republican Club, which meets Tuesdays at noon at Carlos Murphy's, features speaker Chad Garcia at today's meeting. Garcia participated in the San Diego Republican Convention. His speech is titled, "A Report." Meetings are open to the public, and Carlos Murphy's is located at 419 W. Congress St.
- The lecture, "Quality of Life at the End of Life: Making Choices that Enhance Well-Being," is presented by College of Nursing professor Cheryl McGaffic. The discussion will provide the audience with information about factors that contribute to well-being and enhance quality of life in older adults and for adults living with a life-threatening illness. Strategies to minimize stress and to effectively deal with end-of-life issues, such as making a living will, medical power of attorney, and hospice services, will also be included in the presentation. The lecture is the fifth in the University of Arizona Faculty Community Lecture Series, 1996, and is free and open to the public. WEDNESDAY
The UA College of Medicine Department of Psychiatry presents a lecture tomorrow on new findings in depression research. The lecture will be given by Pedro Delgado, M.D., who is associate department head and director of research. It is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is the sixth in a series of lectures presented by the department. The lectures will be held the first Wednesday of each month and are open to the public.
