  • The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free workshop on how to use Pine e-mail in the Center for Computing and Information Technology Room 311 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.

    The workshop shows participants how to access and use Pine e-mail from computer systems inside and outside the UA. Topics include sending, replying to and creating folders to organize e-mail messages. An account is required to participate in the workshop.

  • The UA baseball team plays Cal State Fullerton at 2:30 p.m. at Frank Sancet Field.

  • Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering present Dimitri Papamoschou, of the University of California, to speak on "Elimination of Mach Waves in Supersonic Jets" in the new Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Building Room S202 at 4 p.m. Refreshments are being served at 3:20 in the new AME Building Room N722.

  • The German Studies Film Series presents "Hungerjahre- In Einem Reichen Land" directed by Jutta Bruckner in the Modern Languages Auditorium at 7:30.

  • The film deals with the hate-love of a mother and daughter in post-war Germany which is brought on by the generation gap of two different ears. The film has English subtitles.

  • The Diversity Action Council presents "Drums Across Cultures," featuring Caribe Latino Dance Troupe and Los Timbaleros performing rhythms and dances of Latin America on the UA Mall from noon until 1 p.m. Ernesto Quiroga is speaking on "The Dynamics of the Yoeme Family," in the Economic Building Room 217 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

  • The Hillel Foundation is hosting "Lot's Go Israel" in celebration of Jewish Awareness Month at the Hillel Center, 1245 E. Second Street at 7 p.m. The presentation includes a video tape of Israel focusing of its culture and food.

  • Systems and Industrial Engineering presents former faculty member Averill Law, president of Averill M. Law and Associates to speak on "Simulation of Communications Networks," in the engineering Building Room 301 from 2 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
