  • The UA Library offers a free workshop on Creating Web Pages: Beyond the Basics in the Main Library Room A315 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The workshop covers how to use colors, maps and tables. The workshop is designed for users who have attended the create-your-own homepage workshop.

  • The Alliance for the Mentally Ill of Tucson and Southern Arizona presents Robert Boorstin, advisor to the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, to speak on "Separate and Unequal: How Images of Mental Illness Affect Treatment" in the Swede Johnson Building, 1111 N. Cherry Ave., Room 205 at 4:30 p.m.Boorstin joined the Clinton Administration in 1993 as special assistant to the president. Previously, he was a reporter for The New York Times and a contributing writer to Newsweek and the Washington Post. Boorstin became an advocate for people with mental illnesses following his diagnosis of manic depression in 1987.

  • Steward Observatory Public Evenings presents Craig Foltz, Steward astronomer, to speak on "The Reincarnate Multiple Mirror Telescope" in the Steward Observatory Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.

  • The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre is showing "Space Jam" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:20 p.m.
