Repeated photos of Russel invoke disturbing deja vu

Editor:

Over my three years as a U of A student, there are some things I've come to expect seeing in every Daily Wildcat issue - the comics, the crossword, police beat.

But now there is a new addition to this list of regulars - a front-page picture of Erin Russell.

Several times in the last couple of months I've picked up a paper and thought it was an old copy because of the large front page picture of Russell, some club vice president.

It makes me wonder, "Who on the Daily Wildcat staff is in love with this woman?" Someone obviously is because at least twice a week you guys find some reason to put her picture on your cover.

She's not EVEN the president of her club. I understand that the "club-sports" issue is newsworthy, but are you guys out of film or something? Can't you print the picture of some of the other players in the debate?

Don't get me wrong, I don't have anything against Erin Russell. I don't even know her. I just hate the feeling of "Groundhog's Day" that I get every time I see a "Daily Wildcat" with a huge picture of Erin Russell on it.
