  • Centennial Hall presents "An Evening with Dr. Maya Angelou" at 7:30 p.m. Angelou has written five collections of poetry and several bestsellers including "I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" and "Wouldn't Take Nothing for My Journey Now."

  • The African American Studies Department presents "Sankofa" as part of its African film series. "Sankofa" is a historic film about an African American model who goes to Africa and relives her African past. The film begins at 7 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium. A panel discussion will follow the film.

  • The UA baseball team plays New Mexico State at 2:30 p.m. at Frank Sancet Field.

  • The Arizona Prevention Center presents Pam Erickson, who will speak on "Teen Pregnancy in East L.A.: What's Love Got to Do with It?" at the University Medical Center Room 5403 from noon until 1 p.m.

  • The College of Law presents Geoffrey Hazard Jr., of the University of Pennsylvania, and Stanley Sporkin, U.S. district judge for the District of Columbia, to speak on "Legal Ethics in the Age After Innocence," in the College of Law Building Room 146 at 10 a.m.

  • The Center for Computing and Information Technology offers a free orientation to Computer Resources in CCIT Room 311 from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m.

    The orientation will familiarize participants with the technological resources on campus and will explain how to access them.

  • Career Services offers a free workshop on planning a job search from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Students are required to check in at the Career Services reception desk in the lower level of Old Main.

    The workshop discusses which strategies are most effective and where resources are available.

  • The Memorial Student Union's Gallagher Theatre shows William Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" at 7:30 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. Admission is $2.50.
