Today on Campus

  • Bring your lunch today to the Hillel Foundation, located at 1245 E. Second St., and take in a conversation with Holocaust Survivors at 11:30 a.m.

  • Write letters to show your support for the students of Nigeria who fight for freedom and justice every day. Africana Studies and Amnesty International present this Black History Month Event about Nigeria. Grab your pen and report to the UA Mall this afternoon from noon to 2 to participate in the National Day of Student Action.

  • If you can't make it to the Mall event this afternoon, see what the Africana Studies and Amnesty International have in store for you tonight. Bayo Ijagbemi addresses "Human Rights and Democracy in Nigeria." This talk will be followed by a film documenting oppression and violence against minorities, "The Delta Force." The events begin at 6 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union, Room 283.

  • Elizabeth Brown, curator of the University of Santa Barbara Art Museum, presents "Future Past: Nostalgia and Post Modernity in Contemporary Japanese Art." Join Brown tonight from 7 to 8 in the Main Auditorium of the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering building.

  • Robert Frye of the Environmental Research Laboratory presents, "Population Viability of Rare Plants." The seminar begins this morning at 11 the Franklin Building, Room 202.

  • Discuss "Redefining Development Language Disorders" with assistant research scientist Elena Plante. Join this colloquium today from 12:15 to 1:30 in the Speech and Hearing Sciences building, Room 205.
