ASUA a 'joke'

I would first like to thank those 500 students who decided they had had enough of the ASUA and the administration raping them and voted for me. The choices were very poor. Nathan Kappler ("Elections annoying, meaningless," Mar. 6) thinks [the students] don't have any real power and he is right. Everyone knows the ASUA's a joke. However, he should be pissed that [ASUA officials] get offices, free lunches, pay checks and numerous other perks. The ASUA and the ASA are just breeding grounds for tomorrow's bureaucrats and if they did not exist then we just might have lower tuition. We have elected a president who really does not care about any thing other than getting elected. We are the students and the ASUA does not represent us. There are over 30,000 students here and I would say we are the minority. This is only because we are silent when the administration and the state try to screw us.

It does not have to be this way. We are a huge majority over Marlis Davis [Director of Parking and Transportation Services] and her Gestapo-like tactics. I invite all the students of this university to stand up and tell the administration that you have had enough of it. E-mail Peter Likins at plikins@u.arizona.edu or just stop by the Department of Parking and Transportation to have a cup of coffee with Marlis Davis and her fine staff of metermaids. I will do my best with my show to point out things I see that are wrong, but I can not do it alone. My television show is on every Sunday at 4 p.m. on channel 63 or 55. You can call it even if you don't have cable at 629-0708 or e-mail me and you can come on the show and tell your story of how the man is messing with you. E-mail me at travisk@u.arizona.edu.
