By Brian L. Szatkowski IFC pities columnist's attitudeTo the Editor: I am writing to address Ezekiel Buchheit's column on "How to be a player" (Mar. 9). I could not help but be awed by the blatant disregard for the facts that Ezekiel displays in his column. I am sure that he does not personally know the roughly 1,500 fraternity men who attend this university and yet he all too easily manages to brand us all as a group who have "stripped ourselves of everything that makes us decent human beings." I believe that Ezekiel's editorial stands in stark contrast to the front page of the paper it appears in as Greeks seem to be the most prominent group featured in the human interest article on the front page ("UA students clean local neighborhood, Mar. 9"). I cannot believe the carelessness which Ezekiel wields in his article and I hope that in the future he will have the decency to meet some of his subjects in person before he decides to label the whole group. On behalf of the Interfraternity Council and its member organizations I would just like to say that I pity you, Ezekiel. I pity you because I think you have so many preconceived notions regarding a large portion of the student body and that you would attempt to foster these in print before gaining any knowledge on the subject.
