Ben Harper and his band the Innocent Criminals performed at Club Rio Wednesday in Tempe. Without an opening act Harper played for a little over two hours and was cheered back on stage for a rare third encore.

The rising folk-rock God took over the Club Rio stage in Tempe Wednesday night. Harper jammed his way through a two- hour set, including songs off his previous releases and his current album, The Will to Live. Harper ended the show with three rousing encores and two dead-on covers of Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" and Jimi Hendrix's "Voodoo Chile."
