Arizona Daily Wildcat April 9, 1998 SidelinesThe 15th-annual Lame for a Game will take place tonight at 7 at the Tucson Convention Center. The UA men and women's basketball teams will strap into wheelchairs and take on the Wildchairs, a wheelchair basketball team, in an exhibition game. Celebrity coaches include UA sophomore guard Josh Pastner and women's head coach Joan Bonvicini.Tickets are available through the TCC box office, Dillards ticket outlets or by calling 791-4266. Seats range in price from $8 to $12 with $2 discounts available for students. All proceeds from the game benefit UA's Center for Disability Related Resources, which provides opportunities for students with disabilities. The Arizona Diamondbacks would like to invite the public all aboard - the train that is. Last week, the Diamondbacks announced that baseball enthusiasts who don't have a problem with railway travel can take advantage of a unique opportunity. Fans can now purchase a ticket package for the April 18, 1:05 p.m. and the April 19, 5:05 p.m. games against the World Champion Florida Marlins. Each package includes free parking, one ticket to the Arizona Diamondbacks game, round-trip transportation via passenger train from Tempe to Bank One Ballpark, a premium item and snacks for the total price of $18.50. For anyone who has already bought a ticket to the game, don't worry because you can still take the "Diamondback Express," an Amtrak train, to the games for $10.
BrieflyThe UA women's club water polo team moved up two spaces in the rankings following last weekend's Regional Seeding Tournament in Flagstaff. The team jumped from No. 10 to No. 8 after defeating ninth-ranked Texas and eighth-ranked Colorado, 10-8 and 11-10 respectively. Shannon Stock and Lynn Munoz led the team with 11 goals each. Jennifer Strelow, Fabi Hirsch and Jen Hubbuch all scored two goals while Sarah Dismuko assisted with six steals. The team will host the Southwest Division Championships April 18 and 19 at the Student Recreation Center.
