Arizona Daily Wildcat April 9, 1998 Laxcats head up I-10 for battle with ASUThere is only one thing worse than losing to Arizona State: Walking on campus and facing everyone afterward. The Laxcats hope they don't have to face those consequences come Saturday at 1 p.m. when they travel north to face the Sun Devils in Tempe. "This is a game that will make their season if they can find a way to upset the Laxcats," UA head coach Mickey-Miles Felton said. The Laxcats (6-6 overall) have already secured the No. 2 seed in the WCLL playoffs and will host either Loyola Marymount or UCLA - two teams they have already defeated this season - in the quarterfinals April 18. ASU, on the other hand, will be playing its last game of the season because it was not invited to the playoffs. "I know we need a win not just for our record but emotionally," sophomore goalie Cameron Gingras said. "I will play just as hard as I would have in any other game." Felton, in 83 games coached against the Sun Devils during his career, has an impressive 77-6 record including a 26-2 domination last year in Tucson. The Laxcats are coming off a 23-7 defeat at the hands of the Brigham Young Cougars Friday night in Provo, Utah, and are using this game as a tuneup for the playoffs. "Somehow I have to get my players motivated in a game that has no meaning for us," Felton said. "It doesn't advance us any further and it is a game that we are supposed to win."
