Police arrest homicide suspect

Tucson police arrested a California man Friday in connection with the April 14 killing of a 32-year-old Tucson man at a UA-area apartment complex.

Officers arrested Dennis James, 22, of Palo Alto, Calif., on suspicion of first-degree murder after questioning him about the killing of Michael Locklin, of the 1800 block of West Riverview, police said. James was booked into the Pima County Jail, where he remained yesterday in lieu of $1 million bond.

Locklin's body was found at 12:43 a.m. Tuesday in the courtyard of Los Altos Apartments, 501 E. Glenn St.

At least 15 people were seen running from the apartment complex near North First Avenue and East Grant Road immediately after the killing, police said.

Police would not divulge the motive for the killing nor the exact cause of death yesterday. Investigators are still asking anyone with information about the incident to call 88-CRIME.
