The Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation held its third annual weekend gala, which included a celebrity dinner, golf, tennis tournaments and awards dinner, at the resort with the proceeds from the weekend going to help fund research to develop treatments and a cure for Niemann-Pick Type C.The devastating neurodegenerative disorder has already claimed one of Parseghian's three grandchildren, all of whom are afflicted with the disorder. Celebrities in attendance at the weekend gala were Lute Olson, Lee Majors, Mickey Jones and Cedric Dempsey. Olson, who has 12 grandchildren, said "NP-C really hits home and shows you how unimportant stressing athletic events can be."
