Learn all about the Baby Boomers in Tucson at the Arizona Historical Society lecture, "City in Action: The Post-World War II Life of Tucson's Downtown." It's free, and runs from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Pima Gallery at the Arizona Historical Society, 949 E. Second St.

Thursday, July 23

Watch Nancy scream "SID! You said you'd kill me!" at the Gallagher Theatre's showing of "Sid and Nancy," 7:30 p.m. and 9:40 p.m. Just that part alone, not to mention Courtney Love's cameo, is worth the $2.50.

Friday, July 24

The Tucson/Pima Arts Council, 240 N. Stone Avenue, presents "Visions of Public Art: Documentary and Experimental Video Works" tonight at 7. All of the videos are by local artists and are about public art in Tucson. The screening will be followed by refreshments and a discussion. Call 624-0595 for more information.

Got the blues? Then trudge on over to the Mat Bevel Institute, 530 N. Stone Avenue, for "The Underdogs of Blues Night," featuring the Nervous Duane Orkestra, Blue Banditos, and Rex Tester. Admission is $3, and the show starts at 9 p.m. Call 622-0192 for more information.

Saturday, July 25

It's another Swingin' Saturday Night at the Rialto Theatre, 318 E. Congress, with Big Time Operator. Tickets are $5 at the door, and free dance lessons will be given at 8 p.m.

Monday, July 27

Ethan Hawke is here. That is, on screen at the Gallagher Theatre. "Great Expectations" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., for $2.50.

Tuesday, July 28

Lisa Loeb, known for that "Stay" song off the "Reality Bites" soundtrack, visits Club Congress tonight with Rufus Wainwright and Jewel comrade Steve Poltz. Tickets are $10 and can be found at Club Congress or at Zip's on University Avenue. Show starts at 8 p.m.
