Fraternity president is 'black eye' on organization

Editor:

Pi Kappa Alpha made the press again, front page. Doug Lipsky, the house president and "political science junior", is well on his way to becoming the type of career politician that this country is famous for. Another black eye for my alma mater.

Doug needs a large dose of responsibility and accountability to round out his academic and professional education. A field trip out behind the woodshed with a riding crop would also help broaden his perspective on being a role model.

His lame excuse of passing the buck to the security personnel hired to monitor the house party is a prime indicator of what we are not teaching at this campus - to be accountable for one's actions.

Unfortunately, we don't have any three credit hour courses that address this necessary evil. Perhaps a curriculum review is in order for all political science majors. While we are at it, lets make it a required course of study for all students - no waivers - no exceptions.

We have failed again by not instilling the very basic of ideals and attitudes in these young kids during their course of tenure at our fine campus. The token fine levied against this house is only a small step towards gaining their undivided attention.

I'm proud to see that the UA Police are taking this misbehavior seriously. Maybe some of these kids will live long enough to graduate and thank us later.
