By Cyndy Hammond Columnist McKean should research topicsEditor: I think Jennifer McKean missed the point of some of the comments she's been getting on her articles. When a reader tells her she shouldn't be writing about a certain topic (say, premature ejaculation) it does not necessarily mean the topic is too sensitive. It might mean the reader thinks she doesn't know enough about the topic to make an informed comment. Most people who wrote in seemed to have a problem with her treatment of the topics at hand not that these topics were being discussed at all. As far as the PE article itself goes, the underlying assumption she seemed to be making when writing it was that sex ends with ejaculation. That limited veiw of sex has probably caused more harm than many other attitudes she condemns. Maybe she's right about it being a cultural thing. Maybe in a place where some professors dress comfortably in 100 degree weather instead of being concerned about eastern fashion, and where people skateboard if they enjoy it without concern for whether it's "in," people are a bit more concerned with content. Just maybe. No, she doesn't have to be an expert in every field, but it is her job to find out something about her topic. Cyndy Hammond
