A female student called police Sunday and told them a man possibly had been following her around the Memorial Student Union and the Main Library since the end of August.

The student said she first saw the man Aug. 25 on the second floor of the Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd. She said he sat down directly across from her about 7 feet away.

According to police, she encountered the man again about 10:30 p.m. Sept. 1 on the third floor of Main Library, 1506 E. University Blvd. According to reports, the man again sat across from her about 7 feet away.

The student told police she has seen the man regularly on Mondays and Wednesdays at either the library or union about 10 a.m. She said he always sits across from her and appears to be reading a book, reports stated

The woman's last meeting with the man was Sunday on the library's third floor at 4:15 p.m., reports stated.

According to reports, the man has never approached or said anything to the student.

A female student apparently angry about her recent parking tickets left a note for Parking and Transportation employees Monday on her parked car at North Vine Avenue and Speedway Boulevard.

An employee called university police after finding the note in lot 4052 at about 10:30 a.m.

According to reports, the note read the student would "shoot down the God Damn Parking and Transportation building" if she received any more citations.

The note also stated the student had lost her permit and was attempting to get a new one "so please be kind."

Someone shattered the rear window of a Toyota pickup while parked near North Campus Drive Monday.

A student told university police she parked the truck at 5:30 p.m. in the metered lot north of the Center for English as a Second Language building, 1100 E. North Campus Drive. She reportedly returned about 6 p.m. and found the window broken.

A man reported his rental car was damaged Monday while parked in Main Gate Garage, 815 E. Second St.

The man told university police he parked the 1998 Oldsmobile sedan on the second level's west end at 11 a.m. and returned about 4:30 p.m. to find a dent in the driver's side door.

The value of the damage was unknown.

An employee reported on Friday receiving a mysterious letter at her office from Nigeria in early August.

The employee told university police the letter had been typed with an old typewriter onto an unusual piece of paper.

The letter stated that the government of the letter's origin was in extreme disarray. It stated there was money available for roads in the country, but to get the money, it had to be put into personal checking accounts. For this inconvenience, the letter promised a sum of money would be put into the person's account.

The employee reported the incident because she believed it may be some sort of mail fraud.
