Today on Campus
- Are we in danger of a Black Hole? Find out tonight at 7:30 p.m. in
Steward Observatory, Room N210 when George Reike will present "There's
a Black Hole in the Galactic Center and We're Falling Toward It."
Following the presentation, a 21-inch telescope will be available for viewing
the night sky. Admission is free.
- What products can reduce the risks of cancer? Leslie Gunatilaka, Arid
Land Studies, presents "Studies on Natural Product-Based Anticancer
Agents Including Taxol". The seminar will be held from 9 to 10
a.m. in Room 2920 of the Arizona Cancer Center.
- The world of science is looking for a few women scientists. Lane Harmon,
psychologist and counselor, will speak on "Finding Your Voices
as Women in Science." Bring your lunch to the Main Conference
Room of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory from 12 to 1 p.m. to
catch this speech.
- Does writer's block have a hold on you? Kendra Gaines of the Writing
Skills Program will discuss "Writing the Standard Paragraph"
at 5 p.m. in the Modern Languages building, Room 413.
- Do you have what it takes to be a reporter? Learn to identify news
from a reporter's point of view from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays in Room
216 of the University Services Building. Marcy Steinberg, owner of Cynosure
Communications will present "Press Release and Media Relations".
