Today on Campus

  • Tired of seeing the same old movies? Try something new, try a German film. "Die Augen der Mumie Ma" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in the Modern Languages Auditorium. The film is about a German painter who discovers the tomb of an Egyptian queen and finds oriental belief that her eyes emanate mysterious magic.
  • As UA emerges on a scientific breakthrough, you want to be sure you know what's going on. So, attend Chris Lewicki, M.S. Candidate and Barry Goeree, Ph.D. Candidate as they present "Development of The University of Arizona Student Satellite". The seminar will be held in the Aerospace building, Room S202 from 4 to 5 p.m. Tea and coffee will be served at 3:30 p.m. in Room N722.
  • Have you been in the dulldrums lately? A self-administered Screening Test and discussion will let you know what depression is to help you better understand what you may be going through on this National Depression Screening Day. A video on depression entitled "The Storm Within," will be followed by a "Depression and Your Resources" talk at 12:15 p.m. in the Campus Health Center building, Room B. Mental health professionals from the Counseling and Psychological Services will be around after the discussions to assist you with any concerns. A video entitled, "Depression: Real Stories, Real Hope" will also be shown in conclusion to all discussions.
  • Do you have what it takes to build a model? Perfect your skills at the "Macroscopic Models of Solidification" seminar presented by Douglas Kurtze of the UA Department of Physics and Atmospheric Sciences. Bring your lunch to Room 200 of the Economics building at 12:30 to be a part of this building experience.
  • Fiesta en Mexico? Sonora, Mexico will be the subject of a class being offered by the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society and the Arizona State Museum. History from the first Spanish exploration through the revolutionary period, native people and contemporary social and economic issues will be addressed from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays.
