GroundZero mixes it up

Keeping up with new music can often be a daunting task. With dozens of new artists and new releases popping up every month, even your friendly compact disc reviewers are sometimes bound to fall behind. But don't throw your hands up in the air in frustration. We at the Wildcat arts desk feel your pain, and we're here to help.

Here we present the very first Ground Zero Music Meltdown mix tape, your sampler and guide to the best music of the past few months. The 20 featured tracks fit nicely on a 90-minute tape, representing the newest and the brightest in rock, pop and dance. All you have to do is make a photocopy of the jacket below (newsprint is too icky), then cut it out, fold and voilà! You're halfway there.

Next, get together with your friends, your friends' friends, and even your enemies if you have to, and ransack each other's CD collections to find all of the tracks. Then, make the tape. It's that easy. And if you can't find something, almost every album on the list is worth buying.

So, stop complaining about being musically inept and get with Ground Zero and the Music Meltdown.

Enjoy!
