Sorry Mr. Likins, but your inauguration was not a place to promote this
so called 'funding fee' for the student union. I'm voting NO on the
refrendum, due to the fact that I've been in the student union maybe
three times this semester. Not only that, but I think it's hideous of
you to ask me for another forty dollars for the sake of a social cause.
I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm going in debt for an education, and
when I have to pay back whatever bank I loan more money from, I want it
to be for my education, not for the quality of food and atmosphere that
I get from the student union. I can't even park near the student union
when I could use it the most, so it's not worth it for me to listen
while you play political games with money I don't have. I really wanted
to meet you and hopefully earn respect for your role at the University
of Arizona, but my first impression is a lasting one. And you displayed
the kind of persistance that I find insulting, instead of pushing the
envelope on a day of recognition, maybe you could just say "thank you"
and leave it at that.
