By John Brown Police BeatA university employee reported receiving a bomb threat Thursday at the First Year Student Center in Bear Down Gym, 1428 E. University Blvd. The employee told university police a man called about noon and said, "I'm sick of your fucking school and I just put a bomb there," and went on to say "I don't care if Peter Likins likes it. You all better do something about it," reports stated. According to reports, the building was evacuated for about 15 minutes while it was checked out. A Tucson man was arrested Saturday after he waved at a university police officer to stop and talk to him at East Enke Drive and North Cherry Avenue. According to police reports an officer was near the intersection about 5:30 p.m. when Mark Jorgensen, 45, of the 1900 block of South Campbell Avenue, asked the him to stop. According to reports, he was holding four cans of Milwaukee's Best Ice beer and he seemed confused and intoxicated. Jorgensen told police another officer had called him a cab and he wanted to know what was taking so long. He told police he needed the ride to get back to the hospital where he had been the day before for alcohol poisoning treatment, reports stated. A check revealed he had an outstanding warrant on a domestic violence charge. Jorgensen was booked into Pima County Jail where he was released by pretrial services. The beer was poured out. Two male students were placed in the Dean of Students' diversion program Thursday after university police found a smoke-filled, make-shift, Pringles-can bong at Navajo Residence Hall, 1557 E. Sixth St. Officers went to the dorm about 12:30 a.m. after a resident assistant had reported finding three male students hanging out on a third floor fire escape, police reports stated. The officers talked to two of the students in the RA's office. The other student had already left, but was diverted into the program after his roommate gave police his alleged drug stash. According to reports, both 18-year-old students had red, bloodshot eyes, a yellowish tinge to their tongues and smelled like burned marijuana. One of the students led an officer to the fire escape where he found the Pringles can, police reports stated. According to reports, the can was still warm and when the officer opened the top, the inside was filled with smoke. Both students told police they had used the can to smoke marijuana that night. Police then cited and released the students and took the bong. University police arrested a male student Saturday night about 15 minutes after he was warned for allegedly yelling at other fans at the UA football game. Police told Robert J. Delghiaccio, 28, at about 8:30 p.m. to go back to his seat after he they saw him start yelling at two men after they refused to move, obstructing his view of the game, police reports stated. According to reports, Delghiaccio, of the 4000 block of North Paseo Sonoyta continued to be unruly, prompting another officer to talk to him about 15 minutes later. He refused to answer the police's questions and became very loud, reports stated. When the officers told Delghiaccio he was under arrest, he tried to avoid being handcuffed and had to be taken to the ground, according to reports. He was cited and later released on a disorderly conduct charge. A female student reported that a man followed her last week with his genitals exposed while on the fourth floor of Modern Languages, 1423 E. University Blvd. The student told university police she was walking to the doors on the building's south side on Oct. 7 about noon when she saw a man walking with his penis showing, police reports stated. According to reports, the man followed her through the building with his genitals out until she went into a classroom. A university employee reported Thursday she found what appears to be a homeless camp on UA-owned property at Tumamoc Hill, 1700 W. Anklam Road. According to reports, the camp has two beds, a barbecue, a makeshift toilet and "mountains" of trash. The employee told police that the staff is not comfortable with the camp being so near where they work. Police are investigating.
