Staff Reports SidelinesThe reunion tour of the 1996 Gold Medal-winning women's gymnastics team will be stopping in Tucson. The Battle of the Sexes Gymnastics Challenge will pit the women against the majority of the 1996 men's team. In attendance for the women will be Kerri Strug, Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes, Dominique Moceanu, Amanda Borden, and Amy Chow. The men will feature Chainey Umphrey, John Roethlisberger, Kip Simons, Mihai Bagiu, and John Macready. The event will be judged by "celebrity judges" and is sanctioned by USA Gymnastics and produced by Jefferson-Pilot Sports. The competition will take place Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tucson Convention Center. Tickets are already on sale for $12.50 or $16.50. The event will be taped and aired on ESPN on Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. BrieflyRoland Kupka's run at the All-American Championships in Dallas came to end Tuesday as he was defeated in the fourth round. Kupka lost to UCLA's Vince Allegre 7-5, 0-6, 1-6 on the University of Texas campus. Kupka should battle for the No. 1 spot on the team this season. The UA women's tennis team is ranked 24th in the preseason Rolex Collegiate Tennis Rankings administered by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Last season the women finished No. 12. The top five consists of Florida, UCLA, Texas, Duke and Georgia. The doubles team of senior Vicky Maes and freshman Joanna Buczowska is ranked No. 25. The next ranking will be released on Dec. 9. By the Numbers45: months, since Arizona has defeated a football team ranked in the Associated Press Top 10. The last time was when the Wildcats defeated 10th-ranked Miami 29-0 in the IBM OS/2 Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 1994. Saturday, the Wildcats celebrate Family Weekend when they take on the 10th-ranked Washington at 12:30 p.m. at Arizona Stadium.
