Schedule of Events

Friday

Breakfast Fiesta: A Sonoran-style buffet complete with live Mariachis. Cafe Sonora, Memorial Student Union. 7-10 a.m. $5/adults, $3.50/children

Campus Tour: One hour walking tours of campus. Meet in front of the Nugent Building. 10 a.m., 12 and 2 p.m.

Kitt Peak Observatory Tour: Guided tour of one of the nation's leading observatories from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Meet at the Tours Tent at West UA Mall. $14/per person, includes lunch.

"Up on the Porch" Ice Cream Social: Meet with UA administrators and faculty while taking advantage of free ice cream. Old Main. 1-2 p.m.

Family Ties Dance Concert: Student performance includes ballet, jazz, modern and tap. Ina Gittings Dance Theatre. 5:30-6:15 p.m. $8/per person.

Hereandnow Theatre Company: Performance by the Asian Pacific American theatre company from California will explore the unique balance of family, school and work. Modern Languages Auditorium, Room 350. 7 p.m.

Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre: A production by the Arts Committee of the University Activities Board. Senior Ballroom, Memorial Student Union. 6:30-8:30 p.m. $15/per person. All tickets have been sold.

Mexican Madness Dinner: Enjoy Mariachi music while feasting on a Mexican meal. Arizona State Museum. 6:30-8 p.m. $12/adults, $6/children.

Saturday


Sophos-Spires Pancake Breakfast: Enjoy homemade pancakes while supporting the United Way fund-raiser. East UA Mall. 8-10 a.m. $4/per person.

Tucson Tour: Learn about the history of Tucson and see the San Xavier Mission. Meet at the Tours Tent at 9 a.m. $8/per person.

Football game: The Wildcats take on the Washington Huskies at 12:30 p.m. at Arizona Stadium.

Family Weekend Awards: Awards for long distance, exhausted family and spanning the decades will be given out during the football game half-time festivities in Arizona Stadium.

Wildcat Post-Game Victory BBQ: UA cheerleaders, Pom Pom Girls, Wilbur and Wilma Wildcat, and the marching band will be on hand for the barbecue and tailgate party. East UA Mall in front of the Main Library starting at 4 p.m. $12/adults, $8/children .

Swing Concert: Local music groups perform a free concert on East UA Mall from 4-6 p.m. during the post-game barbecue.

Sunday


Newman Catholic Center Pancake Breakfast: "All You Can Eat" pancake breakfast at the Newman Catholic Center. 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. $3 per person.

Southwest Harvest Breakfast: "All You Can Eat" Southwestern style buffet in Union Club Restaurant, Memorial Student Union. 9 a.m.-noon. $10/adults, $6/children.

Tours: Meet at Tours Tent at West UA Mall

  • Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum: View underground limestone caves, geological exhibits, botanical gardens and aquatic wildlife. 9 a.m.-2 p.m. $12/adults, $6/children ages 6-12.

  • Sabino Canyon: The perfect retreat for hiking, bird watching and enjoying the mountain views. Includes a 45 minute tram ride up into the canyon. 9 a.m.-1 p.m. $16/adults, $13/children ages 3-12.

  • Tucson: Learn about the history of Tucson and see the San Xavier Mission. 9 a.m. $8/per person.

  • Saguaro National Park: Witness spectacular views from Gates Pass while riding through the heart of the Tucson Mountains. 10 a.m., noon. $8/per person.

  • Old Tucson Studios: Tour the western theme park and movie location from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $20/per person, includes meal.

We ARE Family-Though Different: Panel discussion about the unique nature of today's family structure. Hosted by Parents and Friends of Lesbian and Gays. Cactus Lounge, Room 281, Memorial Student Union. 1-2:30 p.m.
