IIF poses threat to beauty of Mall

Editor:

There have been a slew of letter regarding the plans for the IIF building, and I will admit that I have more than just a few opions about the whole thing. But now I offer one last plea to President Likens and the Board of Regents.

This morning on a jog I rounded the far east side of the mall near Campbell and looked out at the lawn streached out before me as the sunlight hit it. So beautiful and so serene. U of A seemed to come alive right then and there, and all that I thought was "Why?" Why on earth tamper with something so beautiful? Why does the administration seem to think that all that is important is the technilocial prowess of our programs? Why would a student come here for one isolated, underground, building?

I would like the administration to know once and for all that one building does not compell a student to choose the U of A and technology is not the end all be all of education. Dont deny any of those students the chance to learn from the interaction of college and dont deny the rest of us our beloved mall.

So, President Likens, Arizona Board of Regents members, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and anyone else who reads this please, help preserve an important part of Wildcat Pride.
