University police arrested a Tucson boy on a disturbing the peace charge just after midnight Sunday at Park Student Union, 615 N. Park Ave.

Officers saw a 17-year-old Tucson boy yelling and screaming at a Glendale woman at about 12:22 a.m. during a dance party held at the Union. Officers reportedly saw the boy lunge toward the woman while yelling obscenities.

The youth told officers he was mad at the women because she had been talking "bad" about him, police reports stated.

Union employees tried to escort him out of the building but he resisted, police reports stated. Officers reportedly removed the boy from the building and he began to yell and flail his arms.

Officers sprayed pepper spray in the boy's face to subdue him, police reports stated. The boy reportedly told police he did not mean to hurt anyone.

Officers flushed his eyes, mouth and nose to treat the pepper spray. He was cited and released at the scene.

The building was evacuated for 10 minutes because of the pepper spray in the air.

University police arrested a female student on theft charges Sunday in her residence hall.

Police went to 18-year-old Nicole Holcombe's room in Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fifth St., after a male student reported over $50 in calls made on his calling card had come from her room, police reports stated.

Holcombe reportedly told police she was just about to call the police because she made calls on a calling card she found on the sidewalk earlier this month.

Holcombe said a friend had also used the calling card, police reports stated. Police could not reach the friend.

The student reportedly told police he had lost his wallet a few weeks ago and had not reported it because he thought it was in his room or car.

Holcombe told police she would pay for the calls and was released from police headquarters. The male student said he would press charges if necessary.

Two female students called university police Monday after seeing two men steal a handicapped parking street sign.

The two students saw a silver Honda sedan stop near the sign, on the 1000 block of North Olive Drive. The two men got out and put the sign in their car about 8 p.m., police reports stated.

Officers circled the area but found no one matching their descriptions.

A male student called university police Sunday after learning someone had broken into his car.

A UAPD security officer discovered the car, a 1995 Ford Mustang, in a parking lot on the northeast side of North Vine Avenue, with the door open and a broken driver side window, police reports stated.

The officer contacted the student who then called police.

The student told police when he parked his vehicle in the lot at about 9 p.m. Saturday there was no damage.

Students from a nearby residence hall reported hearing the sounds of breaking glass Sunday between 2 and 3 p.m.

The student reportedly told officers the face plate of his AM/FM compact disc player and about 35 CDs had been stolen. He told police the glove compartment had been ransacked.

The CDs were valued at about $12 to $15 each. The value of the stereo face plate and window were unknown.
