Student Tickets available for Thanksgiving and Christmas break

For those students who missed out on the basketball lottery, there is still hope. The McKale ticket office announced last week that it will have a week window for just UA students to buy basketball tickets for games over the Christmas break.

"We have heard the students' outcry about the lack of tickets and have tried to do something about it," said Chris Schappel, assistant ticket manager at McKale Center. "We will have a grace period for the students to pick and choose which games they want to attend over the break."

In the past, all tickets over the break were open to the student body and the public on the same date. This season, the ticket office will allow students to purchase tickets from Dec. 1-5, and then open the remaining seats to the public on Dec. 8. The ticket office can be reached at 621-CATS.

Games over the break include the Fiesta Bowl Classic (vs. James Madison), UCLA and Southern Cal.

The office also announced that it will sell individual tickets for the KC-Asheville game on Nov. 23. Because this game is over the Thanksgiving break, tickets will be available one week prior to the contest.

Tickets will also be offered to students on a game-by-game basis. One hundred seats will be sold at the Gallagher Ticket Office at the beginning of every week containing a home game.
