Campus leadership 'dynamic'

Editor:

It is important to voice one's opionion, and also to voice a change of heart towards an issue when steps are taken in the right direction. I want to commend both ASUA and President Likins for being sensitive to the issues surrounding the referendum for the student fee and making necessary changes. Last week I wrote a letter urging students not to vote for the fee because I felt that we would lose our bargaining chip with the administration. However, the new proposal offered by Gilbert Davidson is sound, and much more in su pport of giving students control. He should not worry about his credibility because there is nothing wrong in making changes, especially when he is following his convictions. It only shows the depth of leadership he has. I also wanted to point out that to my knowledge, we have never had a president as dynamic as Dr. Likins. I applaud this great man for becoming part of our campus and not just looking at it from on high. His voluntary contribution from his own pocket was an act of unity and hopefully his a ctions will be followed by other administrators. If ASUA adjusts the referendum with the two new parts, I feel comfortable in following Dr. Likins' example of pitching in and helping to ensure a better campus experience.
