Arizona Daily Wildcat November 17, 1997 SidelinesLong Beach, Calif. high school basketball standout Ricky Anderson signed a letter of intent to play for Arizona next season on Friday, upping the 1998-99 recruiting class to six players. Anderson, who is from Polytechnic High School, is a 6-foot-8 forward.
BrieflyUA junior golfer Krissie Register posted a solid one-over-par 73 yesterday to win the women's individual crown at the Golf World/Palmetto Dunes Collegiate at Hilton Head, S.C. The women's golf team finished second, shooting a team total 15-over-par 303, three shots behind Arizona State. Other finishers for the UA include Jenna Daniels who tied for sixth place with an overall 224, Shannon Ingalls tied for 19th at 229, Heather Graff placed 26th at 231 and Jill Gomric finished in 38th place with a total of 235. In men's action at the same tournament, the Wildcats finished tied for fifth in the team competition, posting a team total of 867, 15 shots back of winner Texas Christian . Individually, Tim Weiss finished 17th place with a total of 215, Andy Barnes tied for 20th at 216, Rory Sabbatini tied for 31st with a 218, Derek Gillespie came in 61st with a score of 224 and Scott Moore finished in 66th place at 225. Approximately 2000 basketball tickets for Arizona's Nov. 29 game versus UNC-Asheville go on sale this morning at 10 a.m. at the McKale ticket office. Tickets can also be purchased by calling the ticket office at 621-2287.
