By Bob OíBrien Part-time students lose out in ticket policyEditor: With the excitement of Arizona Basketball here again, I could not wait to buy tickets as a first-year student at the U of A. I can remember back to 1988, living in New York, staying up to 2 a.m. to catch U of A on ESPN's late game. I remember wishing one day I would attend the University of Arizona as a student and cheering on the Cats at McKale Center. Every year I would write to Lute Olson and wish him well and he would send me an autographed team photo thanking me for the support. Since moving to Tucson I have attended hundreds of Wildcat sporting events. Sitting in the hot sun when the Baseball team could not buy a win. But I went all the time paying at the gate. It's no secret that the Basketball program brings in big bucks with all the advertising and TV and shoe contracts. I realize that the fans that sit in the "good" seats at McKale give money to the school and are getting something back. However, Just because I am going to school part time, shouldn't mean that I have to hand over four times the amount of money to buy a student ticket. The U of A still takes it's share from me throughout the semester. $10 a week for parking meters and $20 a week to eat in the Student Union. If the football team becomes successful one day is it going to matter how many classes I'm taking? If the Baseball program turns things around will my schedule of classes have to be brought up on a computer screen to determine if I pay at the gate or not? Bob O'Brien
