A male employee called university police Wednesday after receiving a threatening e-mail message on a UAInfo team account.

The employee told officers the message arrived just before midnight on Tuesday, police reports stated.

The message's comments were allegedly directed toward "university policemen."

The body of the message said, "Soon someone is going to put bullets in the heads of university policeman who have nothing better to do than harass people ... think I'm kidding?" police reports stated.

The message was reportedly traced to a computer kiosk across from the information desk at the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd.

Officers could not determine who sent the message.

The employee told officers the account receives similar comments, but they rarely involve law enforcement, police reports stated.

Officers have advised the employee to send any other messages that threaten officers to UAPD.


University police arrested an 18-year-old student Tuesday on drug charges.

Officers received a call from a community service officer at 3:45 p.m. about a group of students smoking marijuana near East Fifth Street and North Highland Avenue, police reports stated. The CSO identified Julie Dixon, of the 1400 block of East Fifth Street, as the person smoking the suspected marijuana, police reports stated.

Dixon reportedly let officers look through her purse. She pulled out a zippered cloth pouch and said it contained "feminine products," police reports stated.

Dixon handed the officers a plastic container from her purse with remnants of suspected marijuana, police reports stated.

Dixon reportedly told officers she had carried marijuana in the past. She then pulled out a multi-colored pipe from the pouch with residue in the bowl, police reports stated.

Officers also found a bag of "green leafy substance" in the pouch, police reports stated.

Dixon was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and released at the scene.


Two students were arrested by university police Monday on liquor and drug paraphernalia charges.

Officers responded about 9:15 p.m. to a report that the smell of marijuana was coming from a room in Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St., police reports stated.

When police arrived hall residents John Roberts, 19, and Christopher Eddy, 18, said they had not been smoking marijuana in the room, police reports stated

Eddy reportedly told officers they could search the room. Roberts was asked to empty his pockets and he took out a small porcelain pipe that smelled like marijuana, police reports stated.

Eddy allowed officers to search his side of the room and they found a plastic pipe Eddy said he bought in Amsterdam, police reports stated.

Officers reportedly found a can of Icehouse beer in the refrigerator. Eddy said it was his, according to police reports.

Police also found a small clear plastic bag contain a "green leafy substance," police reports stated.

Eddy was cited for minor possessing alcohol while Roberts was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, police reports stated. Neither student was cited for marijuana possession.

The two were released at the scene.


A female student called university police Monday after finding the contents of her jewelry box missing from her Coronado Residence Hall, 822 E. Fifth St.

The student told officers she last saw the jewelry in the box on Nov. 3, police reports stated.

She told officers she suspected a homeless man, her roommate's friend, took the jewelry, police reports stated.

The man has reportedly been in the student's room several times but was never left alone.

Officers told the student to call police if the man returns.

The missing jewelry includes: four gold rings, a gold bracelet, a gold and diamond bracelet, two gold chains, a diamond pendant and a gold and amethyst bracelet. The value of the baubles was unknown


A female student called university police Monday after a Zone 1 parking permit was stolen from her 1995 Jeep Wrangler.

The student told officers she parked the Jeep in the gravel parking lot behind the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd., police reports stated.

The student told police she parked at 1:15 p.m. and returned just after 4 p.m. The permit and a Samsonite bag with a pair shoes was missing. The value of the bag, shoes and permit was unknown.
