ASUA to host elderly dinner

Traditionally, Thanksgiving is a time for family gatherings around the dinner table, but some local senior citizens have no family with whom to spend the holiday.

With that in mind, the Associated Students will host their fourth annual early Thanksgiving dinner Sunday for residents at five Tucson senior centers.

"Our mission is to provide elderly seniors with an opportunity to have a Thanksgiving dinner," said ASUA Sen. Cisco Aguilar. Student volunteers will drive them to and from campus, serve the food, greet and visit with the diners, he said.

More than 400 seniors are expected to attend the dinner which runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Memorial Student Union's Arizona Ballroom, Aguilar added.

Any student interested in volunteering can contact ASUA.
