Arizona Daily Wildcat December 8, 1997 Likins seeks Regents' advice about UnionTEMPE - UA President Peter Likins said Thursday that his plan to get the blue prints drawn for a new Student Union without final approval of the Arizona Board of Regents is "stuck."Regents' rules require the board to give the renovation project conceptual approval before an architect can be hired. Likins told the UA Faculty Senate Monday he would try to convince the regents to let him dodge the rule and get the architectural process underway. Likins said Thursday that he will not be able to get the regents to consider his idea because it is not on their agenda. "I realized that it is impossible to ask anything at all (from the regents) without being on the agenda," he said. Likins said he will not ask for conceptual approval because he will not get it. Likins said he would informally ask the regents what to do. "I'm not asking for a motion, but for advice," he said. "What do I do now?"
