Amy Skieresz

Amy Skieresz, a five-time All-American in cross country and track for Arizona, will be honored during halftime of tonight's men's basketball game against Arizona State. Skieresz, who was undefeated during the regular season and finished second in the NCAA Cross Country Championships in December, will be on hand to pick up some hardware.

Kathleen "Rocky" LaRose, UA's senior associate athletic director, said Skieresz will be receiving her 1996 NCAA Cross Country Championship ring and her 1996 and 1997 Pacific 10 Conference rings.

Skieresz was a finalist for the 1997 Honda-Broderick Cup Award, which honors the outstanding collegiate woman athlete of the year. This year's Broderick Award recipient was Cindy Daws, a soccer standout for the University of Notre Dame. Daws, a senior midfielder who helped lead the Fighting Irish to the 1997 NCAA Women's Soccer Final Four, received the honor on Monday.
