Staff Reports SidelinesFans who stared at a blank television screen when UA's men's basketball team's Jan. 6 game against Washington was blacked out can breathe a sigh of relief. UA athletic director Jim Livengood negotiated with FOX Sports Net to allow the UA/Oregon State game on Feb. 19 in Corevallis, Ore., to be televised live in Tucson by KTTU-TV. "It's good for our fans," Livengood said. "We've had one of the strongest local television packages in the league and FOX management understood that and allowed us this opportunity." Livengood had to get FOX and the Pacific 10 Conference's permission to grant an exception for an institutionally-arranged telecast which will air essentially in the same "window" as the FOX/Pac-10 Washington at Stanford televised contest. UA's Jan. 6 game was not televised because of those guidelines. KTTU normally televises all Wildcat games not selected for regional or national television through the league-arranged contracts. BrieflyOnce the basketball season is over, pieces of McKale Center's floor will be sold. A new state-of-the-art fixed-floating floor is replacing the existing floor, which has been in place since 1984. Pieces of the old floor range in cost, depending on the location of the piece, from $17 - $250. A 3-by-6-inch block costs $17. Fountain pens, key chains, and money clips will also be modified to have a piece of the floor displayed on them. Call 1-888-677-2287 to receive a catalog detailing the items for sale.
