  • Abe Lincoln is on trial today at 5 p.m. Former Arizona Chief Justice Frank X. Gordon Jr. presides over the "Impeachment Trail of Abraham Lincoln." The trial assumes that the 1865 assassination attempt on Lincoln failed, and the House of Representatives later brought four articles of impeachment against the president. Discover the destiny of Honest Abe in the Auditorium of the College of Law.

  • Discover what it's like "Living on Rocky Ground: Views of the Sonoran Desert" with Trish Wann. This artist reception will be held in the Rotunda Gallery of the Memorial Student Union tonight from 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Welcome back. The Army ROTC hosts a Welcome Back Picnic and Scholarship Brief today. It is open to all students and is an excellent opportunity to see what the ROTC is about and learn about the scholarships it has to offer. To find out what the ROTC can do for you, stop by the South Hall Courtyard from 4 to 6 p.m. You may also call 621-1609 for more information.

  • There will be a geography and regional development colloquium from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. today in Room 404 of the Harvill Building. Robin Leichenko of Rutgers University addresses "International Exports and U.S. State Economic Performance: A Casual Assessment."

  • Get a "Quickie History of Early Tucson" with Historian Peter Booth from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Booth focuses on the development of Tucson, offering a colorful and informative trip through local history. You can be a part of this journey this morning if you head over to the Arizona Historical Society at 929 E. Second St. To attend, it will be $20 for non-society members.

  • Learn about "Sticks and Stones: The Environment and Architecture" with Harry Rand of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. Rand's lecture is an overview of his current research comparing the work of Paolo Solari with the Hundertwasswe Museum and Hundertwasser's planning village. The lecture begins at 7 p.m. tonight in the Architecture Auditorium.
