A student told university police he waited a day to report that his vehicle had been hit Wednesday at the Cherry Avenue Garage, 1641 E. Enke Drive, because he did not know what to do.

The man left his 1993 Mercury Sable in a space on the first level's east side at 10:30 a.m., police reports stated.

When he returned at 6:30 p.m., he saw that his vehicle had been hit by another vehicle, causing damage to the front and rear driver's side doors.

The student reported the incident to police Thursday evening.

A student called university police Wednesday after his car was keyed whiled parked south of South Hall, in the 1000 block of East Fourth Street.

The man told police he left his 1997 Ford Mustang on Fourth Street at 6:55 a.m., and when he returned at 7:35 a.m., he found a scratch running the length of the vehicle, from the right rear quarter panel to the driver's side door.

The value of the damage was unknown.

A UA employee went to UAPD headquarters Tuesday to report the theft of food items from the refrigerator in his work area at the Education Building, 1430 E. Second St.

The man told police someone swiped a bagel and two pieces of lunch meat from him during the past two days.

He told police he knows it is a minor problem but said other food had disappeared before.

He said the food bandit usually strikes between 3 p.m. and 8 a.m.

An employee at the UA's Apache Lab Research site in Superior, Ariz., called university police Wednesday to report damage to the lock on a storage trailer.

The man noticed the damage Jan. 21 and said nothing was missing from the trailer when he called police Wednesday.

Police Beat is compiled from official University of Arizona Police Department reports.
