Police Beat

University police arrested five students on multiple drug charges Sunday night after university police found them in a cloud of marijuana smoke at Corleone Apartments, 1330 N. Park Ave.

A resident assistant told police he was overcome by the smell of marijuana smoke when he talked to tenants Bruce E. Jensen, 18, and Trevor Muller, 18, while standing in their doorway, police reports stated.

When officers went to the apartment at 10:21 p.m., Jensen answered the door, letting out a another cloud of marijuana smoke, reports stated.

As officers entered the apartment, the eight men in the room stood up and quickly moved toward the bathroom, reports stated.

Inside the apartment, officers spotted two pipes, 11.4 grams of cocaine by the bathroom and a green granular substance on the floor, reports stated.

The tenants refused to let the room be searched further.

Police obtained a search warrant at 12:19 a.m. Monday, and a subsequent search yielded four more pipes, three bongs, 10.8 grams of suspected marijuana and 14 blank UA CatCard identification cards inside of a wallet.

Justin Miele, 18, a Corleone resident, told police that the wallet was his but denied any knowledge of the CatCards.

Muller, Jensen, Miele, Teague Kraus-Sanders, 19, and Christopher Eddy, 18, also Corleone residents, were arrested on charges of marijuana and narcotic paraphernalia possession.

No charges were made from the cocaine seizure because police were unable to determine the contraband's owner.

The blank CatCards were seized, and all five students were cited and released.

A man stopped for speeding on East Speedway Boulevard Saturday night told university police he was in a hurry to get home after a fist fight with his partner at a gay bar on North Fourth Avenue.

At 11:43 p.m., an officer driving east on Speedway spotted a 1973 Toyota Celica without taillights, which sped up when the officer flashed his cruiser's overhead lights, then stopped on North Jones Street, police reports stated.

The officer noticed a cracked windshield and fresh blood on the shirt and pants of the man driving the car, reports stated.

The man told the officer that he had been in a fight with his boyfriend at the night club and did not notice the police car behind him because he was in a hurry to get home.

He was treated by paramedics and released.

A local high school student was arrested on an alcohol charge Friday night after a brick wall near a sorority house stopped her attempt to elude university police.

University police were driving on East First Street at 10:26 p.m. when they saw two young women walking in a parking lot at North Vine Avenue.

Upon seeing the patrol car, one of the women tried to slip the plastic cup she was holding into her purse, police reports stated.

The 17-year-old girl showed one of the officers an Arizona driver's license, then a Canyon Del Oro High School identification card with a different name on it, reports stated.

The girl then snatched her ID from the officer and fled west across Vine Avenue, where she ran into a brick wall near the Alpha Delta Pi sorority house, 1443 E. First St.

The girl was taken to UAPD headquarters, where she was referred to Pima County Juvenile Court on charges of giving false information to police and minor consuming alcohol, then released to her mother.

A Graham-Greenlee Hall resident who was told to move out of his room was arrested after allegedly threatening a resident assistant Saturday night.

The RA told university police that Will J. Schreiber, 19, reportedly became angry and threatened him, police reports stated.

The RA told police Schreiber said "I'm gonna punch you" during the 10:30 p.m. incident.

The man told police Schreiber also said he should have killed him last time and threatened to burn down Graham-Greenlee, 610 N. Highland Ave., reports stated.

Police found Schreiber in his room at 2:40 a.m. Sunday morning. He told police he had argued with the RA, but that he may have been misunderstood.

Police told Schreiber to comply with the RA's request to move out of the room, then cited him on a charges of threats and intimidation, reports stated. He was released at the scene.
