By Bryon Wells Police BeatA drunken student found passed out in front of the Space Sciences building early Friday was arrested on assault charges after allegedly kicking a firefighter and medic who were trying to help him. At 1:19 a.m., university police found Ross A. Robinson Jr., 22, of the 2000 block of East First Street, slumped over at the south entrance of the building, 1629 E. University Blvd., police reports stated. Robinson was having trouble talking and standing, prompting paramedics to suggest he be taken to University Medical Center to prevent alcohol poisoning, reports stated. When a firefighter grabbed Robinson's arms to keep him from falling, Robinson allegedly spat on him and kicked his leg, then tried to bite a second firefighter, reports stated. While being handcuffed and placed on a gurney, Robinson kicked a medic in the side of the chest as she tried to tie his legs with duct tape, reports stated. According to reports, Robinson was still being stubborn at UMC, where tests showed a blood-alcohol level of .323 percent. After being released from UMC, Robinson was booked into Pima County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault, reports stated. University police arrested two underage students on alcohol and drug charges Thursday afternoon after finding 23 cans of beer in their refrigerator at Graham-Greenlee Hall, 610 N. Highland Ave. When officers visited hall residents Noel C. Hilding, 19, and Michael R. Molina, 18, at 4 p.m., they noticed a faint smell of marijuana in the room, police reports stated. Officers found 23 cans of Miller beer in the refrigerator and a ceramic smoking pipe on a chair under a hat belonging to Molina, reports stated. Hilding and Molina were cited on charges of minor in possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia possession, then released. A student was referred to the Dean of Students' diversion program after punching a window in his room Wednesday night at Apache-Santa Cruz Residence Hall, 1440 E. Fifth St. The 18-year-old student told university police he got mad and punched through the window at 10:45 p.m. because he was having "girl problems." He was taken to Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital, 350 N. Wilmot Road, and treated for cuts on his arm. Police recommended that the man be admitted to the dean of students' diversion program. A student called university police Wednesday night to report someone had left a threatening letter on his parked vehicle near the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house, 1510 N. Vine St. The student told police he parked his car in the AEP lot at 9 a.m., then returned at 6 p.m. to find the note on his car. The note said, "You should not have done it, but now you are going to pay. You better watch your back mother fucker," police reports stated. According to the reports, there was no damage to the student's vehicle, and the note was not signed. Tucson police warned a student for bothering another student Monday afternoon at her off-campus apartment and outside the Social Sciences building, 1145 E. South Campus Drive. The student told university police that the man had recently been coming to her apartment uninvited and had called her numerous times. She told university police that on Monday about 10 a.m., the man started following her near the building's eastside but stopped when she told him to leave her alone, police reports stated. The woman then called Tucson police after she encountered the man later that day near her apartment, where he reportedly grabbed her and did not let her go for about 20 minutes, reports stated. The woman called university police to inform them of the incident. Tucson police contacted the man and told him to leave the woman alone.
