By Bryon Wells Police BeatA student called university police Monday after receiving a harassing e-mail message she suspects her ex-boyfriend sent to her because he has renewed interest in her. The student told police she received the message on her Web site home page at 12:45 p.m. and that it was "done in Dungeons and Dragons type form." She said that her former boyfriend, who stalked her about a year ago, likes Dungeons and Dragons and is a very weird person, police reports stated. A police officer suggested she get a restraining order. A student reported Monday that a fellow student has been getting several of her friends to follow him around campus because he refused to go out with her. The student told university police that the roving group started bothering him and following him wherever he goes last Wednesday afternoon because he would not date the friend, police reports stated. The 19-year-old student said there has been no physical contact, and that he has filed a report with Tucson police, who advised him to request a restraining order. A $1,750 fax machine was taken from an unlocked room in Bio Sciences West, 1041 E. Lowell St., over the weekend A UA employee told university police she last saw the machine at 5 p.m. Friday and received an e-mail message Sunday from an associate who told her the machine was missing. The employee told police the machine was kept in an open room so that people working weekends could still send and receive faxes, and that the building was unlocked this weekend because of a special event. A UA Parking and Transportation Services employee called university police Monday at 7:30 a.m. to report the theft and damage of several parking meters at a parking lot at East First Street and North Highland Avenue. The employee told police he saw the meters intact before he left campus at about 2 p.m. Friday. According to police reports, seven poles holding two meters each were pushed over, and one more had been uprooted from the ground and was missing. The cost to replace the stolen meter and fix the damaged ones will be about $375, Parking and Transportation officials said. Sam's Place employees called university police Monday morning to report that someone had broken into a "Police Force" pinball machine in the game room at the Memorial Student Union, 1303 E. University Blvd. The game's owner showed an officer a pried open bracket used to cover the machine's missing coin case, police reports stated. The man told police there was probably about $10 in the coin tray, and the machine was last seen intact about 10:45 that morning. A student called university police Saturday to report the theft of a camera and computer accessories from his room at La Paz Residence Hall, 602 N. Highland Ave. The student told police a $300 Canon telephoto lens, $150 Zip Plus disk drive, $40 worth of Zip disks and a $40 Kodak lens filter were stolen from his room between 1 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. Saturday. He said he wasn't sure if he locked his room or not, and does not know who could have taken the gear, police reports stated.
