Arizona Daily Wildcat February 17, 1998 Laxcats lose team leaderThe Laxcats played their first two games this weekend without their all-star and team leader.Josh Sfara, who was a senior captain on attack, had to quit the team last week because of personal difficulties. He was the team's MVP last season and scored a Laxcat-record 71 goals. He was voted to the WCLL and USILA all-star teams. "We miss his leadership in big games and that showed against Sonoma State," said Chris Greco, UA's senior captain on midfield. "We also miss his overall intensity." The Laxcats now have a depleted lineup of 17 players and as head coach Mickey-Miles Felton said, "The guys have to motivate themselves because they are not fighting for a job, everyone on this team has a job." "Us not having Josh out there is going to be shaky in the beginning but in the end we will be just fine," Greco said. "The team is going to grow and with the amount of freshmen it is going to take some time." With the small amount of players the Laxcats currently have, they are either going to need to get into better shape or face some rough times ahead, Felton said. "Guys are going to have to step up and show some intensity and personality because how successful we are is not going to depend on if Josh is there or not," Felton said. "It falls into the hands of the people that are there."
