Name: Jeff Epstein
Age: 19
Major: Pre-Computer Sciences sophomore
Job Description: Telecommuting computer programmer for Sterling Software of Virginia. Get assignments via telephone or e-mail, turn 'em into reality and send them home to Virginia. Get a nice fat paycheck. Wonder why you're still in college while making that kind of money.Job Perks: Get to work from home, get paid a lot. Job Disadvantages: Never have an excuse to dress up in a suit and tie; while on the computer, tough to stay off of Internet pornography sites.

Jeff Epstein's workday begins and ends whenever he wants it to. He never has to leave his house, or his bedroom for that matter. He calls a man who lives in Virginia "boss," and talks to him several times a week. Guess what his job is.

If you guessed "unemployed man with delusional episodes," you're wrong. Epstein is a telecommuting computer engineer, and he actually does have a boss that lives in Virginia.

"They'll call me up and say 'Eppie,'- they call me 'Eppie' - 'Eppie, write us a program to danglify wiggies,' and I do it for them," Epstein said.

When Epstein isn't spending 10 hours of his week "danglifying," he attends class and does whatever else he'd like to do. His job, which he found at an internship last summer, pays well enough for Epstein to take him through the school year. Not a man to brag, Epstein said that he gets paid "decent."

Epstein said that he thoroughly enjoys his job, which he trained for in junior high.

"I had no life in middle school," Epstein said. "I spent all my time on the computer, but I came out ahead."

Epstein is happy with his job, even though it sometimes requires him to clamp to the computer for 48 straight hours to beat a deadline. When asked if his job had any disadvantages, all Epstein could think of was that he can't play with the cool gizmos they've got in the home office in Virginia because he lives so far away.

Other than that, Epstein has an almost perfect - and deliciously odd - job.

"I love working in my pajamas," Epstein said.
